‘Alessandro Raho: Friends & Family’, a solo exhibition of paintings shown publicly for the first time is opening tomorrow at Charles Asprey - Tyers Street, London, and runs until 29 April.
This exhibition anticipates the redisplay of Raho’s 2004 portrait of Judi Dench in the inaugural rehang of the National Portrait Gallery’s collection following the building’s redevelopment. Judi Dench, 2004 will be on view from 20 June 2023. Presented alongside the painting will be a newly made film in which the artist discusses the commissioning process and creation of this now iconic portrait. Later in the year, Raho will present a series of paintings at Turner Contemporary, Margate, in an exhibition curated by Mark Leckey.
