Ana Mendieta
‘GOLDEN REPAIR’, LUDWIG MÚZEUM, BUDAPEST
9 October 2025 – 22 February 2026
Ana Mendieta is included in ‘Golden Repair’ at the Ludwig Múzeum, Budapest. The exhibition focuses on themes of repair, restoration and renovation – looking at both symbolic and practical gestures manifested in individual artworks as well as wider social responsibilities.
Mendieta’s work is exhibited alongside artists including Anges Denes, Yoko Uno, Ernesto Neto, Cecila Vicuña and Ana Zemánová. ‘Golden repair’ is a Japanese method of repair known as ‘Kinstugi’, from which the title is taken, where cracks of broken objects are fixed and highlighted with golden lacquer, and is a sequel in a long-term curatorial venture that began in 2023 with the exhibition ‘Handle with Care’.
