The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) have partnered with the Whitney Museum of American Art to bring its landmark exhibition, the Whitney Biennial, into the subway system. ‘Making It Here: New York and the Whitney Biennial’ showcases work by artists who have been or currently are featured in the Biennial. In addition to this presentation, a special exhibition of vinyl installations of artworks by former and current Biennial artists—including Roy Lichtenstein, Jane Dickson, Dawoud Bey, Alex Katz, and Eamon Ore-Giron—have been pasted on the facades of former retail spaces on three subway station platforms: West Fourth Street, Jay Street, and Fordham Road.
