Alison Jacques is delighted to announce ‘Project for a Planet’, a solo exhibition by Lygia Clark opening at Pinacoteca de São Paulo.
Curated by Ana Maria Maia and Pollyana Quintella, this exhibition focuses on Clarks’ commitment to public participation. The exhibition brings together a number of Clarks’ iconic Bichos; presented alongside excerpts from films, photos and documents that demonstrate Clarks’ individual proposals and collective endeavours throughout her career. The exhibition presents Clark as one of the artists responsible for restructuring the Brazilian artistic vocabulary from the 1960s onwards, challenging the boundaries between artist and viewer, and proposing a new relationship between body and object.
