Sheila Hicks
Cleveland Museum of Art
1 April – 31 December 2021
Five works from Sheila Hicks’s ‘Escargots’ (2003–04) series have been prominently installed in the contemporary galleries at the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA), following a significant rehang of the institution’s permanent collection.
Every 6 months, CMA will rotate the display, ensuring that the each of the 18 ‘Escargots’ works held in the collection are on view to the public.
Elsewhere in the contemporary galleries, CMA have also installed Hicks’s 1984 work The Principal Wife (1984) alongside work by Lee Bontecou, Louise Bourgeois, Yayoi Kusama and Zilia Sanchez.
