The Gee’s Bend Quiltmakers will be included in the new exhibition ‘Called to Create: Black Artists of the American South’ at the National Gallery of Art, Washington in September 2022.
Featured alongside 40 sculptures, assemblages, paintings, reliefs, quilts, and drawings from the Souls Grown Deep Foundation, the exhibition will explore work from Black artists in the South who worked alongside racism and other forms of discrimination with little recognition.
