Playful, tactile and unapologetically sensuous, Inside Other Spaces is an ambitious group survey featuring 12 “environments” created by female artists between 1956 and 1976. (“Environment” was the term used to describe a work that fused art, design and architecture before the word “installation” took off in the late 1970s.) Closed off from their surroundings, these immersive spaces were designed to transport audiences to different sensory planes.
