From functional sculptures to wearable works. Nicola L’s work eschews the conventional, much like the life of this unparalleled artist. While some of her iconic works have revealed her taste for furniture, allowing her work to permeate the domestic sphere, they have also overshadowed a multi-faceted and versatile quest centred on the individual and collective body. A magnificent monograph, aptly called Life and Art, edited by Hannah Martin and Omar Sosa and published in 2023 by Ápartamento provides insight into a body of work that was far ahead of its time.
