The School of Art and Art History at the University of Iowa announce the opening of the Ana Mendieta Gallery on November 18 with ‘Universal Energy’, an exhibition of 25 works created by Mendieta while she lived in Iowa City during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
A series of film screenings will accompany the exhibition daily through November 26 and Raquel Cecilia Mendieta, film archivist for the Estate of Ana Mendieta Collection, will introduce a programme of additional events.
