To coincide with the museum’s current exhibition, On Earth, the Pulitzer Arts Foundation are screening a selection of short films by Ana Mendieta.
Mendieta used her own body alongside organic materials like water, fire, and blood to explore a physical and spiritual connection to the Earth across time and history. Molly Moog, Pulitzer Curatorial Assistant, will introduce Mendieta’s practice, followed by a screening of five films: Sweating Blood, 1973; Burial Pyramid, 1974; Creek, 1974; Butterfly, 1975; and Anima, Silueta de Cohetes (Firework Piece), 1976.
