Birgit Jürgenssen is included in ‘ON STAGE – All the Art World’s a Stage’, at mumok, Vienna, an exhibition of 150 works that explore theatrical and stage-related forms of expression in art since the 1960s.
Beginning with works associated with Viennese Actionism and Fluxus movement, the exhibition traces developments through to more recent areas of focus such as gender, identity, racism and colonialism. Other areas examined are musical and cinematic productions, (self-)representations, the rituals of the art business, and works where viewers become participants.
