‘Cosmos, Space, Time’ at East Slovak Gallery, Košice, Slovakia, features works by Maria Bartuszová in a thematic group exhibition exploring space, energy, movement, scientific discovery and metaphysical transcendence in Modernist and contemporary art.
The exhibition considers Bartuszová’s practice in relation to time, space and natural processes, placing her work in dialogue with artists including Juraj Bartusz, Rudolf Sikora, Stano Filko, Milan Dobeš and Anton Jasusch. Quiet meditations on growth, birth, touch and the fragility of life, Bartuszová’s exhibited works are cast in plaster and shaped through the action of gravity on materials. Evoking embryos, cellular structures and cosmic forms, they reflect the artist’s understanding of space as a living organism rather than a geometric construction, with time manifesting through processes of material metamorphosis.
