The Women’s Art Collection, Cambridge are partnering with The Centre for American Art to deliver ‘The Goddess, The Deity and the Cyborg Symposium’ on Tuesday 7 May 2024.
Accompanying the exhibition of the same title and co-convened by Curator Harriet Lofflier and Art Historian Catherine McCormack, the symposium aims to both ‘sit with the trouble’ of goddess feminism and it’s antagonistic historiography, as well as explore its resonances and revisions. Presentations will be given by artists and academics that engage with twentieth and twenty-first century art and visual culture associated with feminist spirituality, with Professor Jennie Klein of the University of Ohio presenting as the keynote speaker.
The event will culminate in the launch of the exhibition publication from 6pm.
