Dorothea Tanning and Bona de Mandiargues are included in a ‘Surréalisme’ at Centre Pompidou, Paris, an exhibition celebrating the 100 years of the Surrealist movement.
Designed like a maze, the exhibition is an unprecedented dive into the Surrealist movement, born in 1924 with the publication of André Breton’s founding Manifesto. Tanning’s iconic 1970 installation Chambre 202, Hôtel du Pavot alongside artists Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, Giorgio de Chirico, Max Ernst, Joan Miró as well as Leonora Carrington, Ithell Colquhoun, Dora Maar.
