In Connecticut, art exhibitions must sometimes fight for attention with idyllic surroundings, but there can be few places where the competition is stiffer than at the Brookfield Craft Center (Route 25, between Danbury and New Milford). The center (a nonprofit organization) is housed in what was once a grist mill, near a bridge over the River Still, which is said to be unique in the area for flowing north — to the Housatonic instead of south.
